Is 37 Too Old to Work in Hollywood? It Was for Maggie Gyllenhaal
Should age ever matter? Especially in the workplace? Well, it has for Maggie Gyllenhaal. As The Cut pointed out, Maggie has been turned down for roles because of her age—she's 37, by the way. In an interview with The Wrap, Maggie said she was recently told that she was too old to play the lover of a 55-year-old man. "There are things that are really disappointing about being an actress in Hollywood that surprise me all the time,” she said. “It was astonishing to me. It made me feel bad, and then it made me feel angry, and then it made me laugh.”
But what do you think? Do you think age should matter at all in Hollywood? We want to know. Sound off in the comments below! And shop some of our favourite spring finds by age, too.
