Once, the role of a fashion editor was all about covering newness. However, we think that just as much (if not more) focus should be given to classic pieces you'll wear again and again. Throughout January here at Who What Wear, we will be focusing on these classic fashion items, helping to answer the one shopping question we get asked the most: How do you know what is worth investing in?

If you’re making a designer purchase, you want to make sure you get a return in terms of quality and longevity and that you’re not just paying for the logo and branding. Of course we had to start off with the ultimate winter purchase: a Max Mara coat.
