I'm a Modest Dresser, and This Is the Dress Trend I'll Be Living In This Summer

Am I the only one who imagines I'm frolicking through a field of flowers (in Europe, of course) when I put on a loose and flowy dress? No, just me? Anyways, when the cottagecore trend took over last summer, as a modest dresser, I was relieved. While I think second-skin dresses look fantastic on fashion girls everywhere, there's something about a roomy dress that just gives a very ethereal feeling. The trend, filled with flowy frocks, has since become a fashion staple, especially in the spring and summer, with brands releasing varieties of breezy dresses with all sorts of patterns, colorways, and necklines.

I don't know about you, but I'll most certainly be living in these kinds of dresses all summer. Not only are they stylish, but they're also breathable and comforting for the hot summer days. Plus, when you have no energy to think of an outfit, a loose dress always works. Just pair with sandals and a cute bag and voila—you've got yourself a solid summer outfit on deck. If you're looking to add more dresses to your rotation this summer, look no further than the options below. Whether you like to keep it in the solid-colored range or want to experiment with patterns, you'll find something to love in this mix.

Lastly, she likes to create content for Who What Wear's TikTok. Her personal time is spent doing similar but also different things—deep diving into almost every new TV show (Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls, and Stranger Things are favorites), planning her next local getaway (whenever that may be), and reading the latest Emily Henry or Sally Rooney novel in one sitting.
