11 Celebrities Who Are Making "Lingerie as Clothes" a Thing
No matter what your stance is on wearing lingerie out in public, the general consensus among many fashion-minded celebrities is that it's no longer taboo. Although, some would argue that it hasn't been taboo in quite some time (e.g., Madonna in her cone bra while on tour in 1990).
If you happened to peruse our roundup of Met Gala after-party looks, you're well aware that the unofficial overarching theme was lingerie-inspired looks. In some cases, the attendees looked as though they were wearing actual lingerie. But it wasn't just the night of the Met Gala that inspired celebs to dress up in bra tops, corsets, bustier bodysuits, negligé-style dresses, and sheer pieces. We found plenty of recent instances of celebrities embracing this trend—usually for nights out but sometimes even during the day.
Obviously, the key to wearing lingerie-inspired looks out in the world is to ground them with things like jeans and to wear them with shoes that don't resemble bedroom slippers.
