I've Seen Girls Already Wearing the Colour Everyone Will Want Next Year

Some runway trends don’t become clear until at least the third week of fashion month, but others are so dominant that you can call them after only attending one or two shows. Almost every single collection I’ve seen this London Fashion Week has had one key colour—an acid green—that I just know will be the colour of spring 2020.
This certainly isn’t a classic shade, but the brands that are implementing it are making it feel easy to wear. Victoria Beckham, Rejina Pyo and Molly Goddard had subtle flashes of this shocking lime paired with neutral colours. VB had bright-green roll-necks set against camel tailoring, while Molly and Rejina used this colour via their accessories with bright-green satin flats and strappy sandals. The Rejina Pyo knot bag instantly made its way onto my own personal shopping list in this new colourway.
This is the shade I’ve bookmarked the most this week, but there are other greens in the mix too should such acidic hues turn you off. From bold, grassy shades to a softer sea-foam, there is no doubt that this is a trend that will translate into our actual wardrobes because I've already seen so many editors and influencers wearing it to the shows—mere hours after it hits the runway. From manicures to minidresses, this is the colour that the Instagram crowd is backing way ahead of time.
Keep scrolling to see how designers want us to wear this colour in six months' time and how people are already wearing it now.
See the acid-green trend on the runways:
Rejina Pyo's green knotted bag is on my spring 2020 wish list already.
Molly Goddard used lime green as an under-layer to soft, dreamy pink tulle.
Victoria Beckham's use of electric shades was subtle and paired with camel tones for spring 2020.
Some designers, such as Osman, went head to toe for the bright-green trend.
Emilia Wickstead used it as a base for her classic floral prints.
Rejina Pyo's mules also caught our attention in this surprising hue.
Here's who is taking it to the streets:
Paired with sneakers, this shade of lime can look surprisingly casual.
Even a jolt of green via your accessories will set you ahead of the trend.
And I'm wearing it too! This is a zingy dress from Ghost that can be moved into autumn via black accessories.
Green and brown have proven to be the number one street style method.
A green frock like this can last all year round. Switch up with sandals and earrings for a wedding.
Girls are already carrying highlighter-green bags to pep up sombre outfits.
And don't forget to try out different shades of green together.
If a fluoro-green suit doesn't stop traffic, nothing will!
You'll find this is a colour that has more versatility than you might imagine. See how it goes with blue ticket stripes and white here?
