After a few virtual award-show seasons, I couldn't be more excited for the 2022 Academy Awards. Of all of the glamorous gowns I've seen so far, one look has really stolen my heart. Lily James, the star of the Hulu series Pam & Tommy, hit the carpet wearing a stunning light-pink Atelier Versace gown. The dainty dress with elegant lace detailing looks as pretty as it sounds, and James paired it with a gorgeous diamond necklace and matching pink Versace platform heels. When I first saw this look, my heart stopped. James looks like an absolute princess, but what really takes this gown to the next level is the thigh-high slit.
This slit comes all the way up James's thigh, showing her bubblegum-pink platforms and amazing legs. The slit adds a certain element of sexiness to an otherwise romantic gown, elevating the whole look. When it comes to a red carpet look, Donatella Versace rarely disappoints, and James at the 94th Academy Awards is no exception. I predict we will be seeing many more thigh-high slits on and off the red carpet.
