The Fall Dress Trend Everyone Is Already Wearing
Sure, fall hasn’t technically started yet, but if you’ve learned anything about fashion girls through reading Who What Wear, then you know they started wearing their favorite autumn-ready trends and pieces the second Labor Day Weekend passed. One item, in particular, has already garnered quite the fan base both at Copenhagen Fashion Week and more recently at New York Fashion Week: the leather (and faux-leather) dress. With everything from flats to heels to boots, our favorite street style stars wore leather dresses in every way imaginable, and the inspo is enough to make you want to invest in one ASAP.
Luckily, no matter what your budget is, you can because we designed one in two colors for our Who What Wear collection, out now. Not only is it cool-looking and flattering thanks to little details such as buttons and a tie waist, but it also comes in at less than $50 and is available in a range of sizes, so it’s truly for everyone. To see some of our favorite leather-dress outfits of the past few weeks and then, of course, shop ours, just keep scrolling.
You'd think a leather dress plus leather accessories would be too much, but Aimee Song is here to prove you thought wrong.
When the temperatures drop, swap the sporty sandals for a pair of boots, and you're ready for anything.
Waist-accentuating belts make anything better—including leather dresses.
Of course, leather dresses look good with everyone's favorite strappy sandals.
Make your black dress feel particularly fresh by pairing it with contrasting accessories in lighter colors.
Leather dresses are also perfect for anyone who wants to look edgy but not too edgy.
Black dress + white ankle boots = instant outfit success.
Since leather dresses are inherently polished, you can wear them with flats and still feel dressed-up.
What doesn't look good with embossed boots?
For a night out, pair your black dress with a mini bag and heeled sandals.
Looking to keep it casual? Utility-inspired ankle boots are all you need.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
