When a Press Day Goes Virtual, This Is How One Actress Gets Zoom-Ready
The entertainment press junket as we know it looks very different at this moment. Instead of bringing together filmmakers and stars dressed to the nines to promote a project with a full day of panels, on-camera interviews, and photo ops, those filmmakers and stars are getting together virtually and meeting press from all around the world via communication apps like Zoom, FaceTime, and Skype. Of course, that means getting dressed for these events looks a little different too. Stylists are focusing on waist-up looks (business on top, casual on the bottom, naturally) and we’re seeing glam teams remotely coaching their clients through hair and makeup tutorials.
We were curious about the process of getting ready for a virtual event, so we asked Lara McDonnell, the on-the-rise Irish actress stealing scenes in this month’s Artemis Fowl, the film adaptation of the popular adventure series streaming now on Disney+, to give us a peek at her day.
Check out the video below.
