Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Loves This Cult Lip Balm, and Now I'm Obsessed Too

I have spent the majority of my life looking for the perfect lip balm. You know the sort: The one that makes your lips look full and plump (but not glossy), works to nourish and hydrate (but isn’t sticky) and keeps them supple all day long (without having to reapply). Is that really so much to ask? Well, it’s taken me the best part of my 25 years to find the formulas that really work for me, and the truth is I’m still yet to find my miracle balm. However, with that being said, I’ve discovered one particular brand of balm that comes really quite close.

When I first discovered Lanolips, I didn’t think too much of it and assumed it was just another product that would scratch my lip balm itch but probably not blow me away. I bought a tube, tried it once and popped it in the drawer where all of my tried and tested balms go to die. However, when I later discovered that, actually, Lanolips balms are considered a total must-have amongst the A-list (Drew Barrymore, Iris Law and the Kardashians swear by the brand, but most importantly, my all-time beauty inspiration, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, also declared her love for it on her YouTube channel), I considered that maybe I hadn’t given it enough of a chance…

So in a bid to make my lips even just a little bit more Rosie-esque, I dug out my tube of Lanolips, dusted it off and popped it in my handbag. After one whole week of using it every day, my usually dry, cracked lips were looking plump, feeling rarely comfortable and—as a big bonus—I only found myself needing to reapply once or twice a day.

So what exactly is this sorcery? Well, where as a huge range of lip products champion barrier-forming petroleum jelly to lock in existing moisture, Lanolips harnesses the power of medical-grade Australian lanolin—an all-natural, wool-derived alternative that works to heal the skin at a deeper level. (FYI, if you’re vegan, you might want to look elsewhere.) Plus, it has incredible water-retaining properties, which explains its next-level plumping abilities.

So while my lips weren’t totally cured (they do still suffer in particularly cold, windy conditions), since adding various Lanolips balms to my collection, I can safely say my lips are in better shape than they ever have been.
