I Live in NYC, and My Colleague Lives in L.A.—We Both Love This Comfy Set
While Editor in Chief Kat Collings and I agree on a lot when it comes to fashion, our day-to-day styles still seem to manifest themselves as pretty much opposites. Maybe it's our different body types or the fact that I tend to skew on the more comfortable and casual side and she's not opposed to stepping things up on a Tuesday. Or perhaps it's the fact that we live on opposite sides of the country (with her in L.A. and me an NYC transplant going on six years now). Regardless of the reason, it's not unusual for us to like the same thing, but it's a bit less common for us to actually wear the same thing.
Of course, there are always exceptions. Take the subject of today's story as an example: the latest knit set from our Who What Wear Collection January drop. Sure, Kat favors it in of-the-moment brown, while I opted for the milky white shade, but regardless of the color, we both can't stop raving about this set. In short, that's how you know it's got to be good. Ahead, see how we each styled it, read about why we love it, and, of course, shop the pieces for yourself as well as more of our current favorites.
Kat Collings, Editor in Chief:
"This top and skirt is the set of my dreams honestly. It's very soft, not too thin—which is especially good for the skirt—and overall super flattering."
"The column-like skirt is set to be huge this year. It has a '90s simplicity that I love."
"And both pieces in the set stand on their own, too (the top would be so perfect with jeans), so you're kind of getting three outfits with one set."

Nicole Eshaghpour, Senior Market Editor:
As someone who generally lives in jeans and basics, it takes a lot to get me in a daytime look that doesn't involve pants, but the second I put this set on, I knew I never wanted to take it off.
Firstly, it's so soft and comfortable, and it almost made me wonder what I'm doing wearing zippers and buttons all the time.
Also, I love how it feels special but still casual. I know it would look amazing with a pair of heels, but I love how it feels paired with these chunky Chelsea boots even more.

This classic piece will serve your wardrobe so well.
Is it time to step up your midi-skirt game? Look no further.
Of course, it's always paired with the matching skirt.
I can't decide if I prefer it layered or on its own.
Your skirt collection is about to get a serious upgrade.
If you're looking for a classic knit dress, this one is for you.
I can personally vouch for how good this sweater is.
A black dress you can wear a million times but still feels special.
If I haven't made it abundantly clear yet, I really do love a matching set.
But these pants would look good with so much more than just the matching top.
Just add leather pants.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
