If you've ever wanted to know what's really inside the makeup bags of the most stylish women in the industry, you're in luck. We've created a new column, Show Me the (Makeup) Money, to uncover the beauty products our fashion friends genuinely keep in their daily rotation—and how much their stash actually costs. I'll be delving inside their bags on your behalf and totting up every item in there, from the most expensive to the cheapest. Not only will you be left with an incredible shopping list, but also a realistic price tag to boot. Is there someone whose makeup bag you're dying to see inside? Slide into my Instagram DMs with your requests and I'll see what I can do. This month, we're delving inside the everyday makeup bag of makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes.
Born in Merseyside, Hughes started her makeup career at an Estée Lauder counter in her hometown of Birkdale before she moved to London and started doing nails in a fashion environment. After moving to America in 2013, Hughes shifted her attention toward makeup. Fast-forward to present day, and she now has over 293,000 followers on Instagram, where she's renowned for her experimental makeup tutorials, dewy looks and expert advice. Now residing in New York, Hughes was recently back in London to celebrate her new role as resident glow expert for Elemis. As a huge fan of Katie's colourful, radiant makeup looks, I couldn't wait to catch up with her to see what products she genuinely uses on a daily basis.

"I always prep my skin with the Elemis peel pads in the morning and really give the high points of my face a scrub. It gives the skin a gorgeous luminous glow that literally looks like you've got glass skin."
"The Pro-Collagen Insta-Smooth Primer is kind of the only primer I think I would ever use, because it's got cryotechnology. It's super cooling, and really fresh and beautiful on the skin. It gives a really nice softness to the skin and to the pores. It doesn't try and filter them away; it just sort of makes them look softer and more beautiful."
"I really love this one because it's proven to help with dark circles, and who doesn't love that? It's really light and creamy and wears beautifully under makeup."

"One of my favourite brushes is the Spectrum A06 for concealer. I just use this small brush around my eyes, nose and mouth with a little bit of concealer on it."
"I really love the Dr. Hauschka because it literally looks like you've just been in the sun and it's really, really thin and sheer, and just leaves a bronzy tint on the face."
"My favourite concealer is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer. It literally does what it says: It doesn't really crease, it doesn't really need or require powder (which I like because I don't like to use that much powder), it comes in a really, really amazing array of shades, and it's really creamy and pretty to look at on the skin and makes the skin look like skin."

"Bobbi Brown's matte lipsticks are one of my favourites. I love the shade Semi-Naked. It's a very, very light nude that's perfect for fair to even-paler-than-fair skin. It just looks whipped like that fluffy, matte texture that's really trendy right now.
"This Marc Jacobs mascara is my favourite. It's probably the best buildable mascara I've ever found. A few of my celebrity clients use it and love it."
"The shade Cruella from Nars is the most perfect, perfect red. I like it because it's not the most popular out of the velvet mattes (Dragon Girl is). I like this one because it's a bit more unique. It's got a bit more blue in it, but it's also very middle-of-the-road in the red space. It's not too orange and not too blue."
