5 Reasons Kate Moss Still Has Supermodel Skin at 45
When it comes to style, there's no disputing that Kate Moss is something of an icon. From the wardrobe basics she's been wearing for the last 20 years to the timeless trends she always steps out in, Kate's cool-girl style is definitely something to be revered. But I'm intrigued by way more than Kate's closet… In actual fact, it's her supermodel skin I always notice first when she makes a public appearance. Yes, despite modelling since her teenage years and enjoying much of the party lifestyle that comes with it, Moss's skin is still absolutely incredible all these years later. So what's her secret?
Turns out (rather annoyingly for a skincare junkie like myself who still deals with regular breakouts) Moss didn't actually have much of a skincare routine until recently. But now that she's in her 40s, things have changed. I caught up previously to chat with Moss's facialist about creating a skincare routine that will give you the best chance of glowy skin in your 40s and beyond. It seems Kate might have taken some of the expert's advice on board herself. Keep scrolling to discover Kate Moss's skincare routine, some of her favourite products and her tips for maintaining supermodel skin.
1. She Keeps Her Routine Simple
"My skincare routine is really simple," Moss revealed in an interview with The Guardian. "I couldn't be bothered with loads of products, and I'd get them all mixed up and not know what I was doing. I haven't got the time or the inclination to sit there for ages, putting creams on my face. I need it to be effective and quick."
Shop Kate's Three-Step Skincare Routine
This gentle foam-to-cream formula is Kate's cleanser of choice and makes light work of removing makeup and impurities.
To really hydrate her skin, Kate adds a few drops of this nourishing oil to her moisturiser to boost glow and plump the skin.
Yes, Moss's routine might be simple, but it's pretty expensive. Her moisturiser of choice is an eye-watering £950, but it boasts a high-performance formula brimming with active ingredients to improve your skin texture and tone.

Just like Kate's fave, this is a mild cleanser that removes all traces of dirty and makeup while leaving your skin soft and hydrated.
This restorative oil sinks in quickly, whether used alone or mixed with moisturiser and uses a blend of replenishing oils to strengthen skin, restore elasticity and improve radiance.
Free from synthetic ingredients, this pretty-in-pink moisturiser uses rose and aloe water along with white tea extract to intensely hydrate, plump and smooth the skin to leave you with a wonderful, dewy complexion.
2. She Stays Out of the Sun
When asked about the best beauty advice she had ever received, Moss revealed told W that celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury told her to not go out in the sun. "But it's because she's a redhead, so she knows," said Moss. "I kind of ignored her, but now I'm taking no risks… I don't sunbathe anymore. Before it was like, 'Let's just get as brown as we can!'" These days, Kate swears by factor 50 on her face to keep her skin protected every day.
A mattifying SPF created specifically for your face that layers beautifully under makeup.
You can use this invisible formula on face and body for long-lasting protection.
This sun protector doubles as a rich moisturiser to nourish skin while forming a barrier against UV rays.
3. She Takes Care When Removing Makeup
"I remember taking my makeup off at a Saint Laurent shoot and I was dragging it across my eye," Kate told W. "The makeup artist was like, 'Don't do that to your skin! Don't pull it like that!' And I'm like, 'Really?'"
To prevent pulling and dragging on your skin when removing your makeup, use a gentle cleanser in combination with micellar water and a soft muslin cloth.
Makeup artists swear by this French pharmacy classic for removing makeup backstage, as it's gentle, doesn't irritate the skin and never leaves your complexion looking red.
Made from unbleached cotton, these muslin cloths are so damn soft, and can be used with your usual cleansers and masks for gentle exfoliation too.
Made from cotton pads and bamboo fibres, these pads are great for gently removing eye makeup with micellar water. Once you're done, chuck them in the washing machine and they're as good as new.
4. She Swears by Sheet Masks
Kate might take a simple approach to her skincare overall, but she does allow herself one indulgence: sheet masks. "I'll sometimes do those gorgeous sheet masks while watching telly," Moss told The Guardian. "I had one on last night for today. Like a good girl, in bed, with my face mask on for work."
On days when your skin looks tired and dull, this hardworking sheet mask delivers a boost of rejuvenating vitamin C direct to your skin to brighten, reduce fine lines and even skin tone in 15 minutes.
This luxurious option delivers a double dose of Estée Lauder's cult hyaluronic acid serum direct to your skin and locks in moisture with the innovative foil-backed sheet mask.
This genuine K-beauty sheet mask is made from 100% natural microfibres, so it's incredibly gentle on the skin and is saturated with prebiotics and probiotics to help promote healthy skin functionality.
5. She Dunks Her Face in Ice (Really)
Kate's last tip might not be for the fainthearted, but she swears by dunking her face in ice when her complexion needs a lift. "I first thought that's insane, then I was like 'Hmmmm… Those old school tricks work!'" she told W. "When I'm at work and it's an early morning and you're still asleep, really, then I do it. It's so good. It definitely works, because all the blood comes to the surface." Luckily, if you're not as brave as Kate, these instant skin brighteners might be more up your street.
These cooling eye masks mimic the effects of subzero temperatures to relieve swollen, tired eyes.
I always keep a facial roller in the fridge to glide over my skin when it needs a little brightening.
This antioxidant-rich thermal water provides instant refreshment to the skin, and can be used on over or under makeup throughout the day.
