The Kate Middleton Looks the Entire World Talked About
When we think of Kate Middleton, the first phrase that comes to mind is "polished perfection." The Duchess of Cambridge never misses a sartorial step, which is no small feat given how long she's been one of the most famous women in the world. Part of the reason people are so obsessed with what she wears is that many of her looks are actually accessible. She makes a point to mix designer with high-street pieces, and pretty much everything she touches turns to gold (i.e., it immediately sells out).
Given that every outfit Middleton chooses leads to breathless coverage by media outlets around the globe, you can bet that a lot of thought and consideration goes into every single thing she wears, so you can imagine how difficult it was to choose her very best looks to share with you. But we did our due diligence and decided on her most stylish looks from 2010 to 2018.
Keep scrolling to see the looks for yourself, along with the style tricks that Kate Middleton has mastered!
Style Notes: The Duchess of Cambridge continues to look stylish just one month before her due date. For her latest outing in London, she wore an understated, timeless outfit, including a sleek coat by Goat and black skinny jeans.
On Kate Middleton: Goat Redgrave Coat ($847); Hobbs London Rosie Top ($165); Stuart Weitzman shoes
Style Notes: In case you've ever doubted Kate Middleton's ability to make pieces sell out, take a look at her most recent look at the Place2B Headquarters in London on Wednesday. Her pretty lace dress by maternity label Seraphine is already sold out in all sizes, but we're not surprised considering it's under $300. The Duchess of Cambridge rounded out the look with minimal accessories, including drop earrings and classic black pumps. Does she ever look less than perfect?
On Kate Middleton: Seraphine Marlene Maternity Cocktail Dress ($255)
Style Notes: Kate Middleton found the perfect coat to wear over dresses: Boden's Lena Coat. The ruffled pieced was designed to be slightly longer, to "protect your dresses from the elements." The coat is miraculously still in stock, and as The Telegraph points out, this is the first time Middleton has been photographed wearing the popular, affordable British brand.
On Kate Middleton: Boden Lena Coat in Red Pop ($330); Emmy London Natasha Bag ($475)
Style Notes: Although Kate Middleton's exact Preen by Thornton Bregazzi dress sold out in less than 24 hours, it still inspired the perfect summer outfit idea: We're copying her and swapping out our LBDs in favor of little white dresses for summer.
On Kate Middleton: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi dress; Prada shoes.
Style Notes: Black ankle-strap block heels are the top heel style to have on hand in the summer.
On Kate Middleton: Dolce & Gabbana Polka Dot Dress ($2076); Victoria Beckham Quincy Bag ($1575); Office Nina Sandals ($70).
Style Notes: Matching your dress to your accessories, like Middleton did with her shoes and bag, looks clean, polished, and a little unexpected (in a good way).
On Kate Middleton: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi dress.
Style Notes: When shopping for a dress, make sure that if the fabric is flowy, the waistline is defined.
On Kate Middleton: Alexander McQueen dress.
Style Notes: While it can be tempting to just wear an LBD, a bold color will ensure that you stand out.
On Kate Middleton: Roland Mouret dress.
Style Notes: You truly can't go wrong with a flattering fit-and-flare dress, which is why Middleton wears them all the time.
On Kate Middleton: Alexander McQueen dress.
Style Notes: Avoid a maxi dress that swallows your frame by choosing one with a belted waist.
On Kate Middleton: Jenny Packham dress.
Style Notes: Classic black pumps will always be the most classic shoe style.
On Kate Middleton: Issa dress.
Style Notes: As Middleton proves, a long coat is a chic, unique alternative to a dress.
On Kate Middleton: Emilia Wickstead coat.
