Karl Lagerfeld Has a Secret Nickname for His Favorite Models
The fashion world has a lingo that's entirely its own. Take, for example, Anna Wintour's "AWOK," a phrase that while to us is entirely foreign, holds so much value to Vogue magazine staffers because it's the editor-in-chief's way of giving her stamp of approval. Now, we've learned of a new addition to the fashion lexicon, and it comes from none other than design icon Karl Lagerfeld.
As it turns out, Lagerfeld has a secret nickname for his favorite models—he calls them his "Choupettes," he shared with Vogue UK. And if this moniker sounds the slightest bit familiar to you, it's because it also happens to be the name of his beloved cat, Choupette (who, according to her Instagram page, even has personal maids.)
Lagerfeld also shared with Vogue UK that his favorite model of the moment is 20-year-old Luna Bijl. "She, and the daughter of Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp, they are my Choupettes," he said. Others in this group include Kaia Gerber, Cara Delevingne, and Adwoa Aboah.
Oh, how we'd love to be a part of the Choupettes.
