The Contents of This Man's Makeup Bag Are the Most Expensive I've Seen So Far
If you've ever wanted to know what's really inside the makeup bags of the most stylish women in the industry, you're in luck. We've created a new column, Show Me the (Makeup) Money, to uncover the beauty products our fashion friends genuinely keep in their daily rotation—and how much their stash actually costs. I'll be delving inside their bags on your behalf and totting up every item in there, from the most expensive to the cheapest. Not only will you be left with an incredible shopping list, but also a realistic price tag to boot. Is there someone whose makeup bag you're dying to see inside? Slide into my Instagram DMs with your requests, and I'll see what I can do. This month, we're delving inside the everyday makeup bag of celebritiy tanning expert and founder of Isle of Paradise, Jules Von Hep.
The tanner of choice for celebrities like Stacey Dooley and Sienna Miller, what Jules doesn't know about glowing skin frankly isn't worth knowing.
"I've worked backstage alongside top makeup artists like Val Garland, Lucia Peroni and Hannah Murray, as well as counting Katie Jane Hughes as an inner circle friend, so I have picked up most of my makeup tricks from the world's best," explained Jules. "I'm known for glowy, natural-looking skin—I like wearing makeup to enhance my skin, not hide it."
As well as putting his tanning prowess to good use with the launch of Isle of Paradise (his own self-tanning brand) last year, Jules has more recently turned his attention to the world of mental health and body positivity with the launch of his Get Body Posi campaign and free handbook.
"My book Get Body Posi is a solid place to start when it comes to getting ready—you can read it in 20 minutes," said Jules. "Our lives are too precious to feel rubbish about our appearance. I'm an incredibly positive person, but even I have down days, and when I do, I read through this book to boost how I feel. I also give these out to models on set just to remind them that they're more than their appearance. Storm Models now officially gives this to its girls too."
As part of the launch, Jules along with Isle of Paradise is pledging £25,000 to Mind Charity to help others on their path to mental wellness and body acceptance.
I genuinely couldn't wait to find out which products Jules genuinely used in his makeup bag and was impressed to note that its contents—worth a whopping £400—are the most expensive we've featured to date.
"Okay, before we begin, I want to clarify something just in case you're looking at this image and thinking s) that's a lot of makeup for a man, and b) are those crystals?" Jules joked. "The answers are, I know this is a lot of makeup, sweetie (I am proud), and yes, 100%, these are crystals. Energy should always be at its richest when you get ready for your day. Do your makeup in a negative environment and you may as well not bother going out."
So without further ado, keep scrolling to shop the contents of Jules Von Hep's makeup bag and to find out exactly why he swears by these products.
"My base is always self-tan. I love the evenness it creates in my skin tone. I use Isle of Paradise Self Tan Drops and mix these in with my primer, foundation, serum, tinted moisturiser—whatever. I don't always have time to tan myself (the irony), so slotting it into my makeup regimen shortens the whole process for me."

"I'm from the north of England, so I'm an instant fan of a contour. I keep it subtle and contour with Isle of Paradise Blend It Balm—sweeping under my cheekbones and on my outer brow bones. It's a dream for poolside no-makeup makeup."
"I'm super fussy when it comes to concealer (classic Virgo) and am of the belief that concealer should be applied to the very very inner parts of your eye—none of this dragging down the face and all over the under-eye for me. The Clinique Beyond Perfecting Super Concealers blend like soft butter on warm sourdough."
"I'm all about the glow and always custom-blend my foundation. I love medium coverage but a light finish. My base is a combination of Bobbi Brown Illuminating Moisture Balm, Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation and Hylamide Photography Foundation. So extra, I know."

"This By Terry Compact Expert Dual Powder is almost as good as sex—almost. I love the finish it gives to my skin. Such warmth and depth in its final texture and colour. Obsessed."
"I only started using blusher four months ago, and it's completely changed my makeup. I'm living for it. I swear by the Milk Lip + Cheek Stick. My friend and makeup artist Natasha Stone (who works a lot with Lily James on film sets) told me to put a small amount down my nose and at the top of my forehead to give extra freshness to the skin. I've never looked back."
"I embrace my brows—it's a known thing. I feel like I've tried every brow comb on the market, and this Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brow gel is out of this world. I even messaged her personally to thank her for bringing this gem of a product out!"
"I switch between brushes depending on how my skin is feeling and what length my beard is. I've honestly yet to find a brush that finishes like this Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Brush."

"If I'm mixing self-tan into my makeup regimen, I'll buff out the excess with a MAC Duo Fibre Brush."
"I also love the lightness in coverage a Real Techniques Foundation Brush gives."
"I'm in front of a camera most days and am always prone to shiny skin. I love the Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder Brush with the Hourglass Translucent Powder when I'm on set."
"The powder has a subtle blurring property to it, which I find gives a really natural-looking skin finish."
Next up, trust me—I'm no makeup expert, but I swear by these products.
