Jordan Chiles's Favorite Way to Relax? Going on Pinterest
This is Doing Well, a series where we'll get a peek into the wellness routines of our favorite celebrities, athletes, social media personalities, entrepreneurs, and more. Think of it as a Proust Questionnaire—wellness style. Below, see what they have to say about their favorite workouts, self-care rituals, wellness goals, affirmations or mottos, and more. Maybe you'll find some inspiration for your own routine.
You probably know Jordan Chiles best from her amazing performances in last summer's Tokyo Olympics as part of the USA women's gymnastics team. She wowed audiences around the world along with her teammates Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Grace McCallum, Jade Carey, and MyKayla Skinner. The group took home the silver medal in the team event.
Since the Olympics, Chiles has been pretty busy. She joined Biles for the Gold Over America Tour in the fall. She also recently started college at UCLA, where she's part of the gymnastics team.
And that's not all. Chiles is also a strong advocate for mental health. Particularly, she hopes to reimagine how beauty is defined in sports. After being body-shamed in the past as a competitive gymnast, she's hoping to spread positivity and help people embrace their true selves. So in short, she's a remarkable young woman and role model for so many.
We got the chance to chat with Chiles about her wellness routine. Take a look at how she practices self-care, her favorite motto, and what puts her in a good mood.
The first thing I do when I wake up is… I look at my phone.
My go-to meal before work is… avocado toast.
My favorite workout is… gymnastics. It works!
Something that always puts me in a good mood: Shopping and buying a new pair of Js.
My favorite feel-good Instagram accounts to follow: Normani, any sneakerheads, and my friends.
My must-have beauty/self-care products are… a good highlighter and a good bronzer.
My favorite self-care ritual is… Does retail therapy count? Ha ha!
The one thing I do to wind down is… I love going on Pinterest. It relaxes me.
My ideal chill at-home 'fit is… a big T-shirt!
My favorite thing about myself is… I love how short I am. I like my height.
The one wellness goal I want to accomplish this year: drink more water.
An affirmation/motto I live by: Always believe in the power of your dreams.
