The coat of 2016 had to be Mango's checked, sweeping coat that the likes of Lucy Williams, Camille Charrière and Pernille Teisbaek all owned and Instagrammed on repeat. And it looks like it might be a similar story when it comes to this year's headlining outerwear, with another checked, double-breasted high-street number already causing a shopping frenzy. It's barely even chilly yet, but clever girls know that coat shopping is always best carried out by the end of August (or the beginning of September, at the very latest).
On Thursday, John Lewis launched its five stellar Eudon Choi Modern Rarity coats, and one style in particular sold out in less than 12 hours—a prediction we made a few weeks ago when highlighting the high street's most important new-season buys.
