I Would Honestly Feel Naked If I Ever Left the House Without These 4 Jewellery Pieces
Whilst I like to mix up my outfits—sometimes I'm a minimalist, other times a little bit more maximalist—there are some elements of my personal style that I never deviate from, and that's my jewellery. In fact, there are just four jewellery pieces that I wear daily, and I think I would genuinely have a bad day if I left the house without them on. Dramatic? Perhaps. True? Absolutely. Hey, at least I'm honest.
Topshop's Freedom jewellery section used to be my favourite place to track down the latest plastic jewels when I was younger, but these days I tend to stick to classics that never date, always look effortless and will forever be the cherry on the cake of all my outfits. Over the past few years, I've curated my very own jewellery capsule, comprising the pieces that I reach for every single day, no matter the season or plans in my diary.
Scroll on to see the four jewellery pieces I've worn and loved for many years, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable. They never fail me, and that's a fact.
1. Chunky Gold Chains
Style Notes: This is one of the more statement pieces in my jewellery capsule. I've worn this Monica Vinader chunky chain for probably about five years, and it's invaluable for elevating everything from white T-shirts to cami dresses. Plus, it's surprisingly light, so it doesn't sit too heavily around my neck. Win-win.
Shop Chunky Chains:
There's also a matching bracelet.
Shop the matching Alta Capture Charm Bracelet (£295).
I'm a big fan of the twisted links on this one.
2. Talking-Point Rings
Style Notes: Even though I take my rings off every night before bed, I've never forgotten to put them back on again in the morning. If I did and left the house, I'd be panicking. I have a mix of gold and silver rings and some with various stones, but they'll still make a statement if you stick to one metal, just as Sasha Mei perfectly illustrates above.
Shop Statement Rings:
Loveness Lee is a small and sustainable London-based brand to know.
I always get comments on this one from Otiumberg.
This wavy ring is next on my wish list.
3. Simple Hoops
Style Notes: Groundbreaking? Maybe not. But the humble (small) hoop earring is loyal, effortless and will go with quite literally any look —this is why minimalists like Sylvie Mus (above) love them. And this is also why I wear them every day, apart from on the odd occasion when I switch them for a more statement earring for a night out.
Shop Simple Hoops:
I've worn these every day for the last two years, and I still believe they're the best.
I have a thing for silver hoops lately, so these get a firm yes.
4. An Initial Pendant
Style Notes: Nameplate and initial necklaces have been trending for many years now, and I love them too. I always wear a "H" necklace—just like Hannah Lewis above—and it's such a nice layering piece to add with chunky chains or more pendants. The more the merrier.
Shop Initial Pendants:
I recently lost this necklace that I wore every day, but I still love it so much.
