J.Lo Is the Latest Celeb to Ditch Skinny Jeans for This Controversial Trend

If controversial denim trends tend to get your attention, then you're going to be a fan of the pleated denim trend. The return of denim with pleats can likely be attributed to the return of all things 1980s fashion, but the modern pairs are significantly more flattering. (Trust me—I've tested a few pairs.) Clearly, J.Lo is on board with the controversial trend too, as she's almost always spotted in a cool pair of denim but has shown to embrace the style in the most classic way.

Lopez was spotted wearing a white button-down shirt and white sneakers with her high-waisted, straight-leg pleated jeans. The trend is quite the departure for skinny jeans–loving Lopez, but based on how chic she looks in the trend, we hope it isn't the last time she wears it.

See how J.Lo embraced the trend below, and shop similar pleated jeans so that you too can ditch your skinny jeans (at least temporarily). Plus, see a few examples of the trend on Instagram.
