J.Lo Wore the One Basic That Fashion People Couldn't Survive Summer Without
When it comes to basics, there are a handful of items that no wardrobe can be called complete without. A white cotton tee, black trousers, and blue jeans that fit just right are a few standouts. But of all the essentials out there, none are as important right now as an oversize button-down shirt. Superior for their low-key yet elevated aesthetic, oversize button-downs are, without a doubt, the basic of the year. And with summer coming up, we'll soon be seeing them everywhere.
One of the many fashion people seen recently in the casual-cool basic is Jennifer Lopez, who spent Mother's Day draped in a slightly unbuttoned button-down shirt that was tucked into a white cotton maxi skirt and secured with an Hermès belt. With the summery ensemble, she added a fringe cardigan, her go-to Max Mara sunglasses, and an Hermès Birkin bag. While we're all for her mode of styling a simple oxford top, there are also plenty of other methods for wearing the anti-trend piece.
Below, see Lopez's look and more ways of styling an oversize button-down shirt.
