I Just Texted My Friends Because Jen Atkin Shared Her Fave Beauty Picks With Me

Get ready for a behind-the-scenes look at all the can't-live-without products that make their worlds go round.
If photos of the Kardashians, the Hadid sisters, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner are flooding your Instagram like they're flooding mine, chances are Jen Atkin was the mastermind behind their 'dos. She's what The New York Times calls, "the most influential hairstylist in the world," and for good reason. The hair mogul has launched two successful businesses: Maneaddicts.com, a community where hairstylists come together and create content (including how-to guides and reviews of the best hair products on the market), and Ouai, everyone's favorite haircare brand that now has fragrance, bath, and body products that help women feel their best inside and out. Atkin not only has more than 4 million Instagram followers and a roster of celebrity clients, but she's also a new mom. Influential? Yes, absolutely.
"From an early age, I've been obsessed with the idea of transforming someone," says Atkin. "I love how taking care of your hair, makeup, or skin makes you instantly feel better." I couldn't agree more. I've always metabolized beauty as a form of self-care. It lets me express myself in ways that words can't articulate and helps me feel more confident in my skin. "I think it's important to invest in tools that will help you to maintain the health and glow that makes us all feel better in the morning," Atkin tells me. "And whatever you do, do not pop that pimple!"
As for products that give you youthful-looking skin, Atkin's go-to is NuFace. "A professional micro-current treatment can be a few hundred dollars for each session, so this at-home device is a great one-time investment for glowing skin. As a new mom, it's a game changer when I only have a few minutes to dedicate to self-care between feeding my son and jumping on Zoom meetings." What else can you find stocked in Atkin's bathroom vanity? Keep scrolling for 17 of her favorite beauty products. BRB—I'm texting my friends about each one.
"I'm obsessed with NuFace's at-home micro-current devices! In just five minutes, I can lift, tone, and contour my face and get glowing, youthful skin. The Trinity device with the classic facial trainer, lip and eye attachment, and wrinkle-reducer attachment are my go-tos for lifted cheekbones, a sculpted jawline, and minimized fine lines and wrinkles. I apply the activator before starting my treatment to maximize the micro-current benefits. As a mom who often works from home, it's a life saver to have these tools and products at my fingertips. They allow me to give my skin and face some love whenever I can find a few spare minutes between playing with my son, feeding the dogs, and taking calls and Zoom meetings."
"This is a true staple hair product for me. Not only does it provide extra hydration, but it's also a heat protectant and adds extra shine to my mid-lengths and ends."
"I've never washed my hands more in my life than I have these last couple of years. I love this hand wash because it doesn't strip my skin of moisture, and it has biodegradable micro-beads in it for a luxe hand-washing experience every time."
"Sister to the Ouai Hand Wash, this non-greasy hand lotion adds moisture back into my skin after every wash. Plus, she looks extra cute on the counter sitting next to her sibling."
"This splurge-worthy face oil is a game changer! I love to spoil my skin before bedtime a couple of nights a week with this baby, and all of my friends who have tried it are converts, too."
"Back when I used to fly all the time for work, this mask made every red eye worth it. Now it makes every Netflix moment at home worth it."
"I love Versed. Not only do its products not break the bank, but you don't sacrifice clean ingredients, results, or cute packaging for a more affordable price tag."
"This serum is my fave for reducing the look of wrinkles caused by dehydration. It really penetrates the skin and replenishes moisture reservoirs for the long term."
"This is the perfect hydrating, mauve-pink lipstick. And I love that the packaging is slim and chic, so it doesn't take up too much room in a handbag."
"Yes, it's made of real honey (from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden) and actually smells like it, too. Plus, it's just as rich and delicious to use on your dry ends as it is to inhale."
"My secret to smelling like I'm on a chic summer vacation no matter where I am. Plus, it looks amazing on my beauty counter. I love Byredo."
"A nice lightweight serum for daily morning and evening use. I swear it gives me the best dewy glow, and my skin looks brighter if I use it regularly."
"I love a good daily lip balm, and I'm especially a sucker for mint. I mean, who doesn't love a mint lip for extra-fresh breath?"
"Not only is this the sexiest fragrance bottle ever made, but it smells just as sexy as it looks—like a romantic vacay, IMO. The combo of bergamot, coconut water, jasmine, and ambrette is sure to make you fall in love with it."
"This toner is a gem for reducing the appearance of my pores and helping brighten my skin. Shani is a master at her craft, so you can trust any of her products to deliver as they say."
"I literally don't travel without this. It's a life saver for catching Zs on the plane and fighting jet lag. I also keep a backup in my nightstand on the off chance I have an opportunity to sleep in or take a nap. Ha, wishful-mom thinking these days!"
"This has revolutionized the blow-dryer game. Thanks to its intelligent heat control, it's less damaging to hair no matter the heat setting. Plus, all of the various magnetized attachments specifically target whatever styling goal you're trying to achieve. Oh, and Dyson just came out with a new flyaway attachment that lays down frizz and flyaways like no other. It's amazing!"
