Jeans Are the Backbone of My Capsule Wardrobe—6 Fresh Ways I'm Styling Them for Spring

A white shirt, a blazer, heeled ankle boots... These are all items that make up the core of my capsule wardrobe, but there's one piece that really stands out as a timeless staple, and that's a pair of jeans. Whether it's a classic blue wash or a baggy, trend-led pair, black straight-legs or white wide-legs, jeans are the most versatile item in my wardrobe all year round.

Of course, this is common knowledge, and I need not go into detail on just how versatile a great pair of jeans can be—we're sure you're well aware of the fact they can be dressed up or down with a few clever wardrobe updates. But that doesn't mean there are occasions—the turn of a new season perhaps—that makes up thing about freshening our denim outfits up a tad.

With spring finally on the horizon, I'm in need of some inspiration on how to make my favourite denim new season ready, which is why I have turned to some of the most stylish women on Instagram to provide easy to copy looks. Scroll on to discover the very best jeans outfits for 2024.

Style Notes: Jessica's hack of layering a cosy vest over a denim jacket is one not to miss. As an advocate for Agolde jeans, I love how she keeps her light wash pair casual with Adidas trainers (Samba's, of course) and fuss-free accessories. Perfect for slightly chillier spring day.

Style Notes: Weather permitted, ballet flats are the perfect accompaniment to baggy jeans. I'm a huge fan of Karina's high/low look with the smart belted blazer and sparkly shoes.

Styles Notes: Yes, the colour of the season isn't going anywhere, so now is still the best time to buy a red jumper. Going hand-in-hand with dark blue jeans, I'm going to copy this look with a jumper I just bought from the men's section at COS.

Style Notes: Going for a tonal palette without being too, well, beige, can be tricky, but Lydia gives it a fresh feel by adding warmer brown tones in luxe suede.

Style Notes: I always head to Anouk's account for outfit inspo, and she hasn't failed to deliver when it came to fresh denim looks either. Get her look by pairing black jeans with a flannel shirt and flats. If you want to smarten it up, just swap in heeled ankle boots and a blazer.
