My Wardrobe Was in Desperate Need of Color—This New H&M Collection Did the Trick
Sponsor Content Created With H&M
When H&M announces it's going to be launching a collaboration collection, I always know I'm in for a treat. But when I found out that its latest collaboration would be with the one and only Iris Apfel, I was hyped. The fashion icon is known for her staple oversize, round-eye glasses, flamboyant style, and bold personality. In her 100 years of life, she's taught us to dress in only the things that make us happy and to never, ever take life (or fashion!) too seriously.
The collection launches on April 14 and represents Apfel's unique flare and more-is-more aesthetic. Her over-the-top sense of style is prevalent throughout each piece, meaning there is a lot of color. And it gets better: The price point is pretty unbeatable. "I love doing high style at affordable prices," Apfel told H&M. "Style is not about spending a lot of money. It's not about what or who you wear but how you feel when wearing something. Style is about self-expression and, above all, attitude." Ready to add some of the cheerful pieces to your wardrobe for spring? Keep scrolling to see the collection.
Shop Apparel
Bold hues are trending hard this spring, so this collection is dropping at the perfect time. When it comes to apparel, no color or texture is off-limits. A voluminous, frilled, tulle purple jacket? Sign me up. An emerald green, feather-printed jacket? Yes, please. Even if a piece happens to be neutral, there's a pop of brightness to give it that extra oomph. My favorite piece has to be the canary yellow pants—I can just see them with a pair of funky loafers and a cool oversize blazer.
Meet the canary yellow pants. The low-rise and wide-leg cut make them feel right on-trend.
When you need that one statement piece for a look, I'd definitely go with this. I can see it over a casual pair of jeans or a simple black dress.
I love the play on 100 here. It's the little details that really make this collection extra special.
Like I said, even the neutral pieces have pops of color. If you look closely, you'll see the fabric has the same quirky glasses print that's featured on the bodysuit.
This is the most expensive piece in the collection, but it's so worth it. The only word I can use to describe it is "showstopping."
Shop Shoes and Accessories
And if you've ever seen a picture of Iris Apfel, you know she's all about accessories, so obviously, the collection's shoes and jewelry are *chef's kiss.* I'm talking chunky statement pieces that are perfect for layering. If you're not already decked from head to toe in color, they're such an easy way to add an extra pop to a more neutral fit.
Prepare for everyone to ask where you got these cute green pea–inspired earrings.
Yes, loafers are still trending this spring. Mix up your chunky leather lug-soles with this sleek colorful pair. I can't get over how luxe this fabric looks.
Of course, I want both colors. It definitely feels like there should be a comma in the price tag—just saying.
