28 "Colorful" Spring Pieces That Are as Easy to Wear as Black
As someone who has a tendency to buy and wear everything in black—all the time and in any season—I've put forth a lot of effort over the years to infuse a bit more "fun" into my wardrobe and daily outfits. Of course, since it's not in my comfort zone to wear or buy color, I find anything other than black, white, or denim to be tricky to style, and in order to wear more of a range, I've had to find shades and pieces that still feel me and mesh seamlessly into my otherwise neutral wardrobe.
Interestingly, the majority of those items have ended up being one of the same four or five colors, and upon recently looking at it more holistically, I've realized it's no coincidence. While colors such as purple, red, and orange require more effort to mix and match, the muted yellow, beige, blue, green, and burgundy pieces you're about to see below truly go with anything. Plus, they feel just as timeless and chic as their more neutral counterparts, so there's really no reason not to dive in!
As seen above on Anne-Laure Mais above, this mustardy-yellowy-vanilla shade will go with all your favorite colors and neutrals.
Pixie Market always nails expensive-looking colors at affordable prices.
I know it's a jacket, but I would totally wear it zipped like this as a top.
After black, white, and denim, I tend to buy things in green.
Snake print is as easy to style as any neutral but makes your outfits so much more interesting.
Wear it with the matching skirt or any of your favorite trousers.
Don't forget the matching skirt.
Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
