I Moved to London With Only One Suitcase—Here's What Made the Cut

I've moved around a lot in my adult life. Having lived in three different countries since the age of 22 means I've packed and unpacked suitcases more times than I can count. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but a useful benefit of this transient lifestyle is that I've seemingly perfected the art of fitting my entire life into a single piece of checked-in baggage. And ensuring it stays under the requisite 30-kg mark.

Upon my recent move to London, I made the conscious decision to only pack items I knew I'd utilise both at work and on the weekend. The kind of pieces I could wear time and time again and never really tire of. I also decided to prioritise separates, packing items that could be mixed-and-matched to ensure I always had multiple outfit options at my disposal.

Anyone who's ever stepped foot in the Who What Wear UK office would know I love slip skirts. This item has really become the foundation of my wardrobe, as I'm able to wear them with boots and a blouse for the work week and with sneakers and a jumper on weekends. Aside from an abundance of slip skirts, the other items that made the cut for my cross-continental move included basic knits in a variety of colours, a few favourite pairs of jeans, two blazers for when I need to feel professional and of course, a classic pair of black boots.
