I'm Not a Heels Person, But These Affordable Platforms Have Won Me Over

'Tis (almost) the season for sparkles, sequins and donning your shortest party dresses. But no good festive outfit is complete without an excellent pair of shoes. Whether you’re a luxe-flats or highest-heels kind of person, the right footwear can make any outfit feel special enough to dance the night away in.

So when I was scrolling through H&M’s new-in section this weekend and came across its block-heel Mary Jane platforms—possibly the most fabulous pair of heels I think I’ve ever seen on the high street—I knew I had to share them with you all as soon as possible. They come in two options, silver glitter or classic black, so minimalists and maximalists alike will adore them. And—bear with me here—I think they actually look comfortable, with a closed round toe, ankle strap and platform sole that will take away some of the heel height and save the balls of your feet.

The best party shoes I've seen this year.

Platforms are, without a doubt, the party shoes of choice for fashion people right now. In fact, they’ve had a place in the best dressed wardrobes basically since the '60s. But thanks to the backing of Valentino in recent years, platforms have never been more popular. Lucky for us, the high street has cottoned on, and we have this under-£35(!!) H&M pair as well as lots of other affordable options to choose from ahead of 2022’s party season
