I've already pointed out how laid-back luxe is one of the defining characteristics of how we'll be getting dressed this year. Given the ever-changing state of the world, the continuation of remote working, and an overall craving for comfort, I think the "quality over quantity" mindset is one that's resonating especially well right now. And I'm not alone here. The spring 2022 runways echoed this sentiment, with designers such as Altuzarra, Chloé, and Victoria Beckham reimagining classic wardrobe staples in elevated and luxe ways. And some of our go-to retailers have clearly been taking notes.

While perusing the latest arrivals to hit H&M, I noticed a very similar theme in its assortment: Easygoing essentials such as relaxed tailoring, ribbed knits, and cozy textures were everywhere, proving that this "trend" is one you can easily adopt into your wardrobe without even waiting for spring to arrive. In fact, the luxe staples I found are so good (and their prices are even better) that I don't recommend waiting a beat to try them out. While this way of dressing is extra relevant this season, the 28 items below are honestly pretty timeless.
