In fact, H&M is one of the best-selling brands on Who What Wear UK. No doubt because, like us, you love an expensive-looking high street find. But also because you appreciate a wardrobe staple as much as us—and that’s what H&M does best. This much became clear when we did a little digging into H&M’s best-selling items of 2022 and we discovered that thousands (literally thousands) of you invested in their ribbed vest tops, white shirts and classic black wide leg trousers, among other classics.

Most of the pieces that made it onto the list of the best pieces below are tried and tested basics backed by our editors, and some even have a reputation industry-wide for being the very best affordable wardrobe buys (which probably explains the huge sales numbers). 2. Wide Trousers

Thousands (literally) of H&M's wide trousers were sold through Who What Wear this year and it makes total sense. They come in a few different iterations and colours and are probably the most versatile wardrobe item you can find. 

3. Oversized Cotton Shirt

Of course, a white shirt is a classic and this one is darn near perfect. 

4. Cotton T-Shirt

Like us Who What Wear editors, you love to find the best basics and this white T-shirt is the perfect example. 

5. Rib-Knit Dress

H&M's rib-knit dresses are synonymous in the industry with being comfy, chic and excellent value. 

6. Ankle-Length Trousers

These trousers flew out of stock when they first arrived. Probably because they're a really easy shape to style (they go with so many shoes), and they make your outfits look polished. Luckily they're now back in stock in multiple colours. 

7. Tailored Trousers

By now we all know how great H&M wide-leg trousers are, so it's no surprise to see another smart version make this list. 

8. Wide High Jeans

In case you needed proof that looser wide jeans were the style to own right now, these were H&M's most popular pair in 2022. 

9. Rib-Knit Jumper

Sweetheart necklines reigned supreme in 2022, and this flattering knit was the hero buy. It's just come back in stock, and in more colour combinations too. 

10. Oversized Polo-Neck Jumper

Simple, cosy and cute. There's no wonder this knit sold out straight away. A few sizes have been restocked since, but probably not for long. 

11. Single-Breasted Jacket

Everyone can benefit from a classic blazer in their capsule wardrobe, and as usual H&M provides a great option at an affordable price. 

12. Wool-Blend Coat

H&M's classic wool-blend coats have always been some of their very best pieces. This year's version comes in a few different colours, and has proven just as popular as ever. 

13. Fine-Knit Cashmere Jumper

H&M cashmere is a bit of an industry secret. It lasts well, and more importantly doesn't break the bank.
