These 7 High-Waisted-Shorts Outfits Convinced Me to Take a Break From My Dresses

This may sound counterintuitive, but my lazy-day outfit happens to be a dress. It's a simple throw-on-and-go formula that never steers me wrong, and I always look polished and put-together. So lately, on days that I really want to make a statement and get dressed up, I love finding new ways to style my collection of high-waisted shorts.

Last season during fashion week, I was assigned the role of scouring the Paris runways for new trends. Lo and behold, it seemed that all designers were in agreement that shorts were having a comeback. Styling them for the fall/winter collections included leg warmers, thigh-high boots, and tights.

While the weather is still warm, I'll be taking full advantage and getting my shorts collection ready for a long fall ahead. Keep scrolling to check out the seven high-waisted-shorts outfits that are currently at the top of my saved folder.

My favorite article of clothing, besides high-waisted shorts, is a triangle bikini. So seeing these two pieces come together in one look is a real treat. I'm packing a pair of shorts like these into every suitcase so I can wear them with swimwear all summer long.

Nothing gives "model off duty" more than denim shorts and a leather blazer. I'll start wearing this outfit now and well into the fall.

The coastal-grandmother trend is no joke, and high-waisted shorts paired with a striped sweater is required if you want to match the aesthetic. This will be one of my go-to office looks this year.

If you want to get the Parisian look, tweed shorts are a must. While we love the classics, statement shorts make styling everything in your wardrobe way more fun.
