Trust Me—These Seasonless Wardrobe Essentials Make Getting Dressed So Easy
Sponsor Content Created With Harvey Nichols
This summer is the prime example of British weather: unpredictable, changing within an instant and refusing to conform to expectations of what the season should look like. After a few years of traditionally warm summers and chilly winters, 2023 has reminded me that here on home soil, we rely heavily on our year-round capsule wardrobes to fill in the gaps when the weather leaves us high and dry (or more accurately, damp and fed up).
Summer may have let us down, but with the right pieces in our wardrobes, putting together a great outfit that blurs the line between seasons can be easier than you might think. So, I'm sharing my capsule wardrobe wish list of timeless investment pieces that will mix and match year-round, ensuring that no matter the season or forecast, you always look the polished part.
For this endeavour, I've turned to Harvey Nichols. Home of iconic brands and emerging designers alike, Harvey Nichols offers up a considered edit of the best pieces around, all in one place for your shopping pleasure. You'll find high-quality staples, standout styles and timeless investment pieces that will be with you for a lifetime.
Now, a fashion editor's tip: With Harvey Nichols Rewards, you can earn points on all your luxury purchases and convert them into cash rewards to spend in store or online, plus unlock personalised benefits.
To build my capsule wardrobe, I've honed in on particular styles that I turn to throughout year. This means reliable denim, timeless tailoring and of course, excellent dresses that seamlessly transition from day to night, alongside sleek tops—a must for last-minute plans—and light layers like cardigans and jackets for when the weather is looking questionable. Shirts are a personal favourite of mine, as their versatility means they work just as well thrown on with jeans and trainers for running errands as they do with tailored bottoms for work or evening.
Each of these pieces can be styled and restyled for various outfits, and are therefore worth spending a little more on for the high-quality finish that will make them last. And as always, Harvey Nichols is an emporium of such fasion.
Ready to explore my Harvey Nichols capsule wardrobe that works for every season? Let's go.
SHOP THE EDIT:
A striped shirt is eternally chic, and the contrast stripes on the pocket of this one are a really nice detail.
From weekends to the office to evenings, tailored trousers are seriously versatile.
I think we can all agree; a trench coat is a must.
Every wardrobe deserves a great pair of jeans, and wide-leg styles remain a favourite amongst fashion people.
Through all seasons, elegant flat shoes will complete your looks.
Just because it's a capsule wardrobe, doesn't mean you can't play with fun shades.
Wear with sandals on warm days or grab a pair of knee-high boots come winter.
A shirt dress is so versatile. Style with trainers, mules, boots and more.
The white piping and sweetheart neckline updates this LBD for 2023.
Forget what you've been told; white jeans are for every season.
Trainers are a cool way to finish any look, be it dresses, tailored trousers, skirts or otherwise.
A classic blazer features in all the best wardrobes, and this soft blue hue will elevate all your staple neutrals.
