The Designer Flats That Keep Selling Out

In 1953, Gucci introduced the first-ever horsebit loafer, and in 2016 it many incarnations—heritage or of-the-moment—are still just as popular, if not more so.

Our inside sources at London's established boutique Browns Fashion have reported to us that not only is Gucci one of the store's most sought-after brands in their impressive line-up, but this particular range of flat shoes provides the biggest sales, and quickly too. No sooner did these pieces arrive, they sold out. As you'd hope, the buyers already have them on a repeat order, due to drop any day now.

It's all part of the Italian brand's major regeneration under the design leadership of Alessandro Michele. His magpie-friendly combination of eclecticism and granny-chic has struck a chord with a crowd seeking something more individual, but just the pure Gucci-effect has snared all kinds of dressers into its dreamy realm, and where minimalists and maximalists meet is in this shoe department. The black Jordaan loafers (a slightly slimmer, smoother silhouette in comparison to the originals) will suit Scandi types, while the Princetown (backless and either plain leather or currently lined with fur and rendered in decorative jacquards) will fulfill the more adventurous shopper. Scroll down to shop the Gucci loafers we love!
