10 Fresh Ways to Style Jeans That Don’t Look Casual At All
Sometimes putting together an outfit to go out seems too fussy—whether that be some sort of fancy party dress or trying to recreate a skirt ensemble from the runway. Personally, I am often running from a day full of meetings to an evening of events and want to keep things simple. That is why I always rely on elevated denim to dress up at night, for easy and effortless evening looks that still feel pulled together and bring that bit of “wow” factor.
Recently, I noticed quite a few cool outfits on Instagram, all incorporating denim, and seemingly perfect for a night out. So, I pulled together a few of my favorite combinations for you and shopped them out with the essential items to get these looks ASAP. Whether it be a lace bodysuit paired with baggy jeans for date night or an elegant, wrap top styled with dark denim flares for a dinner with friends, these are the best outfit ideas for going out. Believe me, they’re so simple to pull off, you too will be relying on these dressed up denim ideas for the foreseeable future.

Don't miss the cut-out back detail on this vest, making it even more evening appropriate.
Clean and classic, a dark rinse jean can go from day-to-night in a flash.
Leopard Printed Camisole + Gray Relaxed Jeans
Leopard print is neutral enough for even the minimalists out there.
Trust us, you need to try these on to truly believe how good their fit is.
Tailored Blazer + Distressed Straight-Leg Jeans
A black blazer is a no-brainer when it comes to essential, going-out pieces.
When styled with evening-appropriate tops and accessories, a light-wash denim works for after hours.
Sequined Crop Top + Baggy Blue Jeans
Sequined tops might be obvious for evening, but when styled with a baggy jean, the result is surprisingly fresh.
The high waist on this pair creates a nice look when layered with a crop top.
Ribbed Polo Cardigan + Black Cropped Jeans
Unbutton from both ends and show a little midriff, making this ready for a night out.
Lace Bodysuit + Oversized Blue Jeans
Show a little skin with a deep V, lace bodysuit. It tucks into denim effortlessly.
These low-slung jeans may be Y2K-inspired, but feel oh so relevant for today.
Knitted Wrap Top + Dark Flared Jeans
The size range on these is spectacular. Choose from regular, tall, and petite in four different washes.
Mesh Corset Top + Gray '90s Jeans
A sexier, mesh corset top feels a bit more grounded when styled with jeans.
Puffed Sleeve Top + Distressed Cropped Jeans
The cropped hem is made to show off those shiny shoes—a must for evening.
Tweed Evening Jacket + Straight-Leg Jeans
A tweed jacket in a darker tone works for evening. Simply add a fun earring to the mix.
Look for a wash that is dark enough to make something like this tweed jacket feel ready for aperitivo.
