I'm Already Copying Gigi's Throw-on Shirt, Trousers and Flat Shoes Outfit
Ah, the white shirt, the pillar of, well, anyone's wardrobe. There's possibly no item of clothing that holds such a weight of fashion responsibility. Tasked with polishing the looks of bankers and waiters alike, the white button-down and its myriad of styling opportunities makes it one of the hardest working pieces in our wardrobes. At Who What Wear UK, you’ll find us styling a white button-down with tailored trousers on Monday morning, then wearing that same shirt with low-slung jeans and loafers on the weekend. Unafraid to let the workwear wardrobe trickle into the weekend, we’re newly inspired by Gigi Hadid’s fresh way of styling the garment, as evidenced in New York on Friday.
Hadid wore her roomy cotton shirt with floor-skimming black jersey trousers and neat, black ballet flats, with her favourite Loro Piana bag in tandem. Ballet flats have been working their way into the wardrobes of all our favourite style icons, and as Hadid proved during her walk, a sleek pair is all you need to polish up a casual look.
Up top, the Guest In Residence founder (Hadid recently launched a cashmere knitwear label) kept her accessories fresh, sporting a gold Missoma necklace, layered amongst others and visible through to the open collar of her shirt. She styled minimal gold hoops with complementary gold-rimmed, rectangular sunglasses and her hair pulled back into a messy bun. Freshening the look, Hadid opted for a raspberry tone on her lips and a matching flush on her cheeks.
It's a simple-yet-effective formula that is easy to follow, and we shall do so ASAP! Keep scrolling to shop Gigi's shirt, baggy trousers and ballet pumps combination.
