How to Do Valentine's Day Like a French Girl
The French have earned a reputation as ranking among the top of the romantics. Paris is the thought of as the city of love, after all. But you might be surprised to learn that when it comes to Valentine's Day, they're decidedly low-key. "I think that in France, people keep Valentine's Day casual and easy. It's less formal than in the U.S.," says Evelyne Chétrite, founder and artistic director of Sandro Femme. Still, she notes that for the French, it's still a chance to do a little something special.
So, if you're a Francophile (like many of us here at Who What Wear), what's the way to do Valentine's Day dressing? Chétrite has a few options. For something fancy, she suggests trying a romantic dress, or "of course, if your lover invites you for a walk in Montmartre or somewhere in Paris, a pair of jeans, sneakers, and a big scarf are the best." Below, you'll find a few pieces inspired by the Parisian take on February 14.
