In a Month, Everyone You Know Will Be Wearing This Dress
We never met a floral dress we didn’t like, but that’s not to say that some aren’t more interesting than others. Depending on the color balance and the size of the bloom, some floral dresses can feel washed out or, conversely, too brash.
Summer’s take on the floral dress errs on the side of pale and interesting, with white base colors setting the fresh tone for roses, marigolds, and other delicate buds. Fall, on the other hand, has taken the opposite stance with regards to the motif, instead layering its florals over dark, brooding backdrops.
Seen on the Prada, Richard Quinn, Marques Almeida, and Paco Rabanne, the dark floral dress is set to be an integral part of our new-season wardrobes. However, unlike the knitwear and leather we’re forced to bookmark until September, this is a trend we can start phasing into our outfit repertoire right now.
Since it’s in plentiful supply on both the fast-fashion and designer shopping circuits, now is the perfect time to invest in a dark floral dress ahead of fall 2019. Keep scrolling to see the dress’s impact on the catwalk and how influencers are already wearing theirs and then simply choose your favorite to buy from our edit.
