4 Polished Ways NYC Girls Style Puffer Jackets
It's cold in NYC, and I mean proper cold. Gloves have been located, new Heattech thermal layers have been purchased, and giant turtlenecks have been dug out of winter storage (the joy of having a New York–sized closet). Naturally, puffer jackets are officially back on rotation.
I have a special place in my heart for anyone who manages to wear a puffer jacket without sacrificing their style. Now that temps are dipping below freezing, there's no better time to show some respect to four of my favorite New Yorkers and their chic puffer jacket outfits. Without further ado, here are four easy ways to style a puffer jacket this winter.
Imani Randolph is proving that a very low-key, practical outfit can still feel cool and intentional. I'm into the cozy flats, but the main styling detail is the way the faux-leather puffer jacket and black leather gloves feel almost seamless. It's giving Vetements energy—only much more practical.

I wouldn't blame you for doubting a puffer could work this well with a long pleated skirt and platform Mary Janes, but Erica Choi is here to prove that puffer jackets can feel elegant. This chic collarless puffer from Uniqlo is an ideal option to style with a cozy faux-fur collar.

Firstly, I wish all of you the opportunity to wear a head-to-toe burgundy look this winter. Secondly, if anyone is going to change my mind about long puffer coats, it's Mimi Nguyen in this windproof and waterproof Aritzia style (paired perfectly with her burgundy COS clutch) that's made with 100% responsibly sourced premium down and promises to keep you warm, even when it's -40°F.

A moment for velvet puffer jackets. It's a thing you maybe didn't realize should be on your radar but is definitely a chic way to add interest to an off-duty jeans-and-puffer outfit. Like Anaa Saber and everyone else, I'm very into yellow sneakers right now, especially paired with anything adjacent to burgundy.
