I Tried Dozens of Prescription Eyeglasses—These 8 Were the Clear Winners
Before I was prescribed glasses of my own, I was always a little jealous of glasses wearers. A cute accessory that you need to buy to improve your vision? Now that sounds like a good excuse to go shopping. When I was younger and would tag along with my mom to help her choose her eyewear, I only ever saw three styles: thick square frames, classic cat-eye, or some variation of tortoiseshell. Great options, but a limited selection nonetheless. There are so many more designs on the market today, and thanks to retailers like Walmart, you can easily try chic styles both virtually and in-store. I wholeheartedly believe that prescription frames are an extension of one's personal style, so there needs to be a variety of affordable options available. By the looks of our Editorial Director Lauren Eggertsen's recent excursion, Walmart agrees. Eggertsen knows a good accessory when she sees one, and after combing through the retailer's impressive selection, she has shared her eight favorite styles below.
"I thought I hated pink until I tried these frames. The trick here is that the pink is so subtle, it goes with nearly anything. I love wearing these in the spring and summer to keep things light and cute." — Lauren Eggertsen
"I love that these larger square frames have a retro feel to them. They add a fun focal point to any outfit without distracting from the look itself."
"There is nothing chicer than a pair of tortoiseshell glasses. They are timeless and wildly wearable. I find myself reaching for these often, knowing they will likely pair with whatever I'm wearing."
"If you want to make a statement without doing much work, these glasses are your answer. They are classic yet pack a big punch, which is the perfect combination for me when it comes to eyewear."
"Gold frames are my favorite style, period. I love how they compliment my jewelry and add a subtle warmth to my face. I typically gravitate towards a more square frame, but I find that the round shape adds a bit of character which I like."
"This pair is all about the details. The teal color is so subtle, but in person, it's unique enough to warrant so many compliments."
