Carolina Herrera's Kaleidoscopic Mexico City Show Is Guaranteed to Put a Smile on Your Face—Shop It Now
Succession is a hot-button topic in the fashion industry right now, with several major houses sans creative directors. You know who doesn't have to worry about that? Carolina Herrera. She found the perfect replacement in Wes Gordon when she retired in 2018. He's consistently proven to be the ideal heir to the House of Herrera throne, and his newest collection is no exception.
Gordon decamped to Mexico City last week to stage a spectacular Resort 2025 runway show at the Museo Anahuacalli. The collection was a kaleidoscopic mix of cobalt blue, tangerine orange, emerald green, and cotton candy pink. If you're as transfixed as I was, you're in luck. This marked Carolina Herrera's first see-now-buy-now collection, so the colorful resort pieces are already available online.
A handful of items from the show, however, will only be produced upon special order. A press release explains the origin of these exclusive pieces: "In parallel with the ready-to-wear collection—inspired by the luminous sunsets of Mexico City—Wes Gordon collaborated with four select Mexican female artisans and their teams to create one-of-a-kind show pieces interwoven into the collection to celebrate the very best of Mexican artistry, paying tribute to the cultures from which these meaningful works were born." It's safe to say I'd move mountains to get my hands on these gems.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
