The term "holiday season" should be rebranded to "shopping season," because frankly, shopping is all I think about this time of year. When I'm not deciding what gifts to get my loved ones, I'm thinking about what I'm going to wear to every holiday event that comes my way. I wouldn't be me if I didn't use these party invites as excuses to purchase a new outfit or two, and that's exactly what I'm doing for New Year's Eve.

There are typically two types of people on New Year's Eve—those who prefer to stay in, wear comfortable clothes, and maybe host a few friends; and those who like to go out wearing the highest heels possible and dance on a table when the clock strikes midnight. I won't be revealing which one I am, but what I can share are the outfits that fit both types of people. Below you'll find 18 different outfit combinations from Express. Yes, you read that correctly—18. Whether you're staying or heading out this NYE, I have no doubt there is an outfit for you below.

Express knows how to do a party look. This retailer's got sequins, rhinestones, velvet, leather—you name it, Express has it. The three tops I've selected here fit a range of personal styles. I'd style the jeweled sweater with the white trousers, the velvet halter with the maxi slip skirt, and the blazer with the miniskirt (this combo always looks so polished). But those are just my suggestions—you've got 12 more styling options you can choose from below.

Okay fine, I'll admit I'm much more of a hosting-at-home kind of New Year's Eve girl, so this category is right up my alley. Express is known for having versatile basics, and the following items represent that well. Staple sweaters and turtlenecks, comfortable and cute denim options, plus footwear to finish off your look and make everything come together seamlessly. Personally, I'm pairing the white-trimmed black top with the miniskirt for my NYE look this year.
