As a fashion editor, one of my most asked questions is what constitutes a reliable wardrobe and as you'd imagine, my reference is French style for all the reasons above. Although style is entirely subjective and French style leans more towards minimalism, it highlights basic pieces every woman can benefit from.
For 2025, expect to see themes of a similar ilk—refinement, many neutral tones and the emphasis on quality craftsmanship with a slight nod to elegant anti-trend trends. We've witnessed the rise in burgundy hues, suede fabrications, and deep grey, for example, which are trend-led but classic pieces French women have inherited.
