The Perfect Date Night Accessory Does Exist—Here's How I'm Styling It
One thing my husband and I have made a nonnegotiable in our relationship is having a weekly date night. The dates vary—one week we're trying a fancy new restaurant, and the next week we're picking up street tacos and hitting a movie at the theater down the street. And a nonnegotiable on said date night? We're putting on full looks. With both of us working from home most of the time, it gives us a chance to dress up for each other (and ourselves!).
So if you're assuming I must be constantly looking for new pieces to add to my date-night outfit rotation, you would be correct. When I saw Coach launch the Times Square Tabby, I knew it would be a great addition. Coach has had an array of Tabby styles—the Tabby Messenger, the Tabby Shoulder Bag, and the Tabby Wristlet, to name a few—but the Times Square Tabby is the newest in the beloved collection (and my new personal favorite). The quilting! The shape! The versatile styling features! It's perfection. The style is inspired by Coach's hometown, New York City, and gives off the same electric energy. I was lucky enough to get my hands on it, and unsurprisingly, it fit right in with my wardrobe. See how I'm styling it for date night below.
When I unboxed this Coach bag, I immediately knew the first outfit I'd style with it. Burgundy is trending hard this fall, so I was over the moon about receiving this specific color. The moment I put it next to the brown blazer on my bed, I knew the pieces were going to look perfect together. Truthfully, I have about three outfit combos that I usually stick to for date nights (I'm a creature of habit!), so I was even more excited to switch things up with this miniskirt I recently bought. I've talked about this before, but my 5'9" height makes it hard to find miniskirts that work, so I rarely wear them. But paired with these knee-high boots, I kept asking myself, "Who is she?" I swear, my Coach Times Square Tabby bag sparked a desire to get out of my comfort zone—and I'm so glad I did.
Call me cheesy, but I love a good cliché fall date. Apple orchards, pumpkin patches—if it has to do with autumn, I'm there. My husband and I both grew up in Northern California, where we could actually hit those spots on the regular, but now that we're in L.A., we have to be a bit more creative. We're always trying to do things that make us feel like we live in a small town with changing leaves—like getting spiced drinks and walking around fall-themed outdoor shopping centers, or lighting every fall-scented candle in our house. So naturally, I wanted to lean into the fall of it all with this combination of double denim and suede boots. I love that my Coach handbag's burgundy color offered a bold contrast to the blues, and the quilted leather perfectly elevated my casual look.
