I Just Tried On Arket's Newest Autumn Pieces—These Are the Items That Work for My Classic Wardrobe
Welcome to The Great Try-On. With autumn well and truly in the air, we seized the opportunity to try on some of the best new-in pieces from some of your favourite brands, documenting the process along the way. We believe that the best way to shop online is to see an item IRL and read candid reviews, so we hope that this leads you to your most successful purchases of the year.
As the weather cools down and the leaves begin to change, my attention naturally shifts to my autumn wardrobe—the season I look forward to the most when it comes to fashion. My autumn looks are built around timeless, classic pieces that can be styled effortlessly for everyday wear and slightly more polished occasions alike. Think wool coats in neutral tones, oversized knits that feel cosy yet refined, tailored trousers and an array of structured blazers that I can throw on at a moment's notice. My style leans modest and minimal with an emphasis on quality and versatility, so every item I invest in has to earn its place in my wardrobe.
When it comes to shopping, I've always been a selective buyer; I tend to avoid trends in favour of pieces that will stand the test of time. I am to curate a collection of items that feel modern but classic enough to wear year after year. I gravitate towards neutral colour palettes—blacks, greys, creams and the occasional muted green or brown—and clean, understated silhouettes. Above all, I'm constantly searching for items that strike the right balance between comfort and sophistication, which is why Arket has become one of my go-to brands for reliable staples. The brand's collections are always full of simple, beautifully designed pieces that fit my style perfectly without feeling over the top or massively trend-driven.
This season though, I want to step slightly out of my comfort zone whilst still staying true to my classic sensibilities. I'm looking for pieces that can refresh my current collection in a subtle but impactful way; items that feel a bit more current but retain the timeless appeal I always look for. As a modest dresser, I also appreciate that Arket consistently delivers stylish full-coverage pieces, making it a natural choice when I want something new.
With all that said, I headed to Arket with a few key items in mind: a versatile coat that can work with everything, a statement knit to see me through the colder months and a blazer to take my autumn layering to the next level. I was also on the lookout for accessories to tie my outfits together, like a good scarf and bag to complement the classic tones and textures I love.
After trying on several pieces from the newest autumn drop, I'm excited to share the four looks I created—each one built around a standout piece I'll be reaching for all season long. Scroll to see!

My Review: I've been looking for a coat that could rival the coveted Toteme scarf coat. Enter Arket's Fringe Scarf Jacket in black. Whilst it doesn't have Toteme's bold contrast stitching, there's something irresistible about this all-black version. The fringed scarf detail gives it a more subtle statement that still feels incredibly luxurious—perfect for my minimalist aesthetic. I love how this jacket feels both structured and effortless. It drapes beautifully thanks to the fringed scarf design, but it's also polished enough to wear over both casual and dressier looks. The search for a coat that balances practicality and elegance is always tricky, but this piece has become my new obsession (yes, I bought it). I've been reaching for it every day, and I don’t see that changing any time soon.
To complete the look, I paired it with the editor-loved Alpaca Wool-Blend Jumper in a gorgeous moss green. I love how the hue brings a bit of warmth to the outfit without feeling overpowering. For my bottom half, I opted for the Relaxed Leather Trousers in dark green—these add just the right amount of edge without compromising comfort. Lastly, I finished the look with the Leather Ballerina Flats and the Tote Bag, both in brown. The contrast of textures between the leather trousers, soft alpaca knit and smooth ballerinas make this outfit a go-to for autumn.

My Review: If there's one thing my wardrobe can never have too many of, it's a great knit. So when I spotted this Chunky Cashmere Wool Jumper, I knew it had to be mine. I live in neutral knits during autumn and winter, and this grey one is perfect; it's substantial, warm and feels luxurious. What really sold me though is the oversized silhouette. It's that rare blend of slouchy yet refined, making it easy to wear on casual days but elevated enough to style for more polished looks. I also appreciate this jumper's versatility. The chunky texture adds interest without overwhelming my frame, and the soft grey shade goes with everything in my wardrobe.
For this look, I styled the jumper with the Wool-Blend Twill Trousers in black, which have a flattering high waist and a structured fit that pairs well with the relaxed knit. To top it off, I added the Shawl Collar Coat in grey for a monochromatic look that feels classic but modern. The black Leather Crossbody Bag completes the outfit, adding a sleek touch.

My Review: Blazers are a year-round staple for me, but finding the perfect oversized cut can be tricky. I was drawn to Arket’s Oversized Blazer because of its sharp tailoring and relaxed fit, which is exactly what I was looking for. I can throw it on over a T-shirt for a laid-back vibe or style it up with a turtleneck and trousers when I need to look more polished. The silhouette is bold but not too boxy, and I love the way it adds a bold shape to my otherwise minimal, classic wardrobe; the slightly exaggerated fit gives that modern twist I'm after this season.
I kept the outfit casual by pairing the blazer with a simple Crew-Neck T-Shirt in white and Arket’s Cloud Low Loose Jeans. The relaxed fit plays off the blazer's oversized structure perfectly. To finish the look, I added a pop of colour with the Suede Tote Bag in green and opted for classic Adidas Samba OG Trainers in white for a cool off-duty feel.

My Review: Shawls are one of those understated accessories that can transform an outfit, and this Wool-Blend Triangle Scarf is no exception. I've always loved the versatility of a good scarf, and this one caught my eye because of its geometric shape. There's something about a triangle scarf that feels more intentional and structured than your standard rectangular one, and this grey version feels modern and elegant.
What drew me to this scarf is how effortlessly it could elevate my outerwear collection. I could wear it draped over my shoulders or wrapped around my neck for warmth, but it’s not so bulky that it would dominate the rest of my outfit. Shawls like this are the perfect statement piece for those of us who prefer a quieter, more refined approach to accessorising; they add dimension to an outfit without being too loud or over the top.
For this final look, I styled the scarf with Arket’s High-Neck Wool Jumper in black, keeping the base layer pared-back so the scarf could stand out. I paired it with the Press Crease Trousers in black and the Stretch Leather Boots for a sleek, streamlined silhouette. To tie it all together, I added another black Leather Crossbody Bag but this time in a rectangular shape, which complements the overall minimal, chic vibe.
