Every Single One of My Friends Is Obsessed With This Dress Brand—21 Styles We Love
Working in fashion means being surrounded by some of the most stylish people you'll ever meet, but it always surprises me how wildly different personal style can be amongst fashion people. My approach, for example, is more classic and understated—a tailored blazer here, a timeless LBD there. I love pieces that don't demand too much attention but still look super polished. On the flip side, a few of my colleagues love to lean into bold trends—think exaggerated silhouettes or anything drenched in sequins. But whilst our day-to-day styles might differ hugely, party season has a way of uniting us. During a recent editorial brainstorming session, we realised that despite our differences, we all have one brand firmly on our wish list this year: Rat & Boa.
I discovered the brand through one of my more trend-focused colleagues who always turns to its statement-making dresses for a special occasion, and I've been hooked ever since. The dresses strike the perfect balance between dramatic and wearable, which means that they're now also my go-to for any event that demands a little extra effort. I still reach for the velvet maxi I bought years ago—it's survived countless soirées and still manages to wow every winter. Rat & Boa doesn't just do party dresses; it creates moments. Whether it's a sultry slip for a cocktail evening or a billowing maxi for a winter wedding, the brand always delivers exactly what I need.
This season though, Rat & Boa is taking things to a whole new level. The latest collection, Nocturne, feels tailor-made for every party invite on my calendar. I've already got my eye on the Lilia dress—that draped-sleeve detail!—and the Venus maxi, which is practically begging to be worn to a black-tie gala; whilst the Sirena maxi has me daydreaming of a festive dinner party, paired with strappy heels and a chic oversized coat. With luxe textures like silk and velvet and subtly daring details, it’s no wonder Rat & Boa has become our shared obsession.
Below, I've rounded up my favourite styles that I bet will make their way into your wardrobe too.
