8 Cool Trends Fashion People Are Wearing With Jeans

Jeans are a core piece in my wardrobe, so I’m always looking for new ways to style them for when I throw a pair on. Inspiration is always close at hand when looking to the fashion set, since denim seems to be a mainstay in their wardrobes as well. What always surprises me is how many fresh outfits with denim seem to pop up, no matter what the season. I guess that’s proof that fashion with jeans just stand the test of time, no matter what.

If you tend to agree and are as big of a denim aficionado as I am, I’m bringing you some of my favorite new ways to style jeans at the moment. From accessories like baseball hats and ‘90s-inspired bags to cool layering pieces like ankle-grazing trench coats and structured bustier tops, there is plenty of fresh inspiration for you to peruse ahead.

Baseball Hats

There's no doubt about it, baseball hats are one of the buzziest accessories of the moment. They're the perfect piece to throw on with anything from sweatpants to leggings, but I especially love when they're paired with a great pair of slouchy jeans.

"Dad" Sneakers

Though "dad" sneakers have been around for many seasons now, they've only picked up steam recently. They're a personal favorite in my wardrobe that I can guarantee I've been wearing more than any other shoe in my closet this year. Simply style them with jeans and a tee.

Denim Shirts

The denim-on-denim look will always be cool, in my opinion. For a fresh way to style this now, add an upsized denim shirt to your favorite pair of jeans and add a great pair of boots.

Chunky Loafers

Chunky loafers were one of the most popular shoes to emerge for fall but they're still in heavy rotation now. Fashion people have been pairing them with ripped, slouchy jeans and tailored outerwear to strike the perfect balance of cool and polished.

Long Trench Coats

Trench coats are such a core wardrobe staple that they almost don't classify as a trend, but they've been everywhere recently so I simply can't ignore their surge in popularity. I'm especially seeing longer silhouettes with slightly loose fits. Styled with jeans and a bodysuit, it's the ultimate timeless look.

Bustier Tops

We can thank Bridgerton for the recent uptick in structured corsets and bustiers. Heading into spring, it's the perfect addition to a pair of slouchy jeans since it adds some shape to the loose silhouette.

Sweater Vests

While I thought the sweater vest trend might be short-lived, I'm only seeing more of them pop up on my Instagram feed. Style a fitted version under a blouse with wide-cut jeans or relaxed vest with skinny jeans.

'90s-Inspired Bags

The resurgence in '90s-inspired bags is undeniable—and a favorite addition to denim outfits fashion girls have been wearing recently. It's no surprise to see them styled with other popular '90s items like upsized jeans and tees.
