This May 8–19, Who What Wear Australia presents the second annual Street Style Awards, #TheStreeties, honouring the tastemakers and industry insiders whose style sets the tone and influences the world of fashion today. Last year, Brooke Testoni was crowned the winner of the 2016 Street Style Awards, largely down to her original, authentic and creative fashion choices. Be sure to check back on May 19 for our announcement of this year's honourees.
Fashion Week is finally here, and day one's street style moments didn't disappoint. Despite the overcast weather, it didn't dampen the fashion crowd’s energy to put their best outfits on and head to Sydney Opera House to watch Dion Lee open with his Resort '18 collection.
Thankfully, the rain held off (no one wants rain to ruin their new pair of Gucci fur loafers!), and the fashion set graced the Opera House steps in some of the most seriously cool footwear we've ever seen.
Our official #TheStreeties photographer, Katie Fergus, was on the ground capturing the best of this year's street style. They're the moments we'll be talking about for months (and years) to come. We can't wait for you to follow along with our week of coverage. Keep scrolling to see our favourite footwear from day one of Fashion Week Australia.
