8 Easy Trends That Go With Birkenstocks
I've owned a pair of dark gray suede Arizona Birkenstock sandals for years. I've been keeping them in a basket of sandals in a corner of my closet. But since I'm prioritizing comfort more than ever right now, and upon seeing so many chic Birkenstock outfits on so many stylish people on Instagram, I've recently moved them to a prominent place on my shoe shelf, and have been wearing them more than ever.
Deep into my Birkenstock outfit rabbit hole, I realized that there are a lot of similarities in the types of items women are wearing the ultimate comfort sandals with. The eight trends below are both easy to wear and perfectly complement the casual-cool feel of Birkenstocks (and Birkenstock-style sandals) so well that I, for one, plan on combining them all summer long (now that my trusty old Birkenstocks have a new prominent place on my shelf). And after writing this story, I'm convinced I need another pair, so I included some of the ones I'm contemplating at the end, just in case you're in the same boat.
Pleated Pants
Pleated pants are the perfect thing to trade your jeans for come summer. Combined with Birkenstocks, they look perfectly effortless and cool.
Baseball Caps
Based on the number of baseball caps I've bought in over the past several months, I think this combination is going to be my summer 2020 uniform.
Tiered Dresses
The biggest dress trends this summer are casual, comfortable ones (like tiered dresses), which I keep seeing worn with Birkenstocks for an easy daytime look.
White Button-Downs
This might be my favorite trend of all the wear with Birkenstocks right now. It just feels classic and right, timeless and easy.
Sweatpants
You probably saw this one coming. Sweats and Birkenstocks go hand-in-hand. If you want to dress it up a bit, copy this look and add a trenchcoat.
Boilersuits
The beauty of boilersuits is that you can just throw one on and go, and you'll look put together. And as you can see, Birkenstocks make them look even cooler.
Cardigans
Cardigans aren't just for winter, folks. Just change up what you wear with it (i.e., Birkenstocks).
Leggings
)
No explanation needed, right? Birkenstocks have long been my favorite shoe style to wear with leggings and that's not changing anytime soon. Bonus points if you add crew socks.
