I'm Already All Over Fall 2022's Chicest Looks—This Is What I'm Wearing
As a fashion editor, fashion week is the industry equivalent of the Super Bowl. It's the event we anxiously anticipate twice a year to see the fresh ideas that will be on everyone's lips in the next few months. And with the recent conclusion of the fall/winter presentations, there are plenty of new and exciting ideas to talk about.
The fall collections brought a mixture of practicality, as seen by the sudden explosion of the white tank top at Bottega Veneta and Prada, and a heightened sense of drama that embodied fantasy and grandeur (just take a look at Valentino's all-pink runway show for further proof). After scanning the runways of Paris, New York, Milan, and London, I summed up a few of the overarching trends and ideas that dominated the season. Whether it's for the forward concept they represent or the innovative way they're styled, these are the looks I'm rushing to replicate ASAP.
Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Look 20
Fashion week can create a collective rush to invest in new trends and new It pieces, so it's welcomed change when a designer comes up with something that can be re-created with staples already sitting in our closets. This pairing of a turtleneck dress and knee-high boots is chic and edgy yet effortless and straight to the point, which is the very essence of cool. As the weather transitions to full-scale sunshine and warm temps, this is an outfit to have in your Rolodex.

Valentino, Look 6
When half of your collection is hot pink—which was the case at Pierpaolo Piccioli's most recent Valentino show—it's essentially a strong endorsement. Bold, saturated hues are already a huge force on the trend circuit, and now, I have no doubt it will remain that way firmly into 2023. To get prepared ahead of time, I'm snapping up pieces in this audacious color, from suiting to dresses.
Shop the look:
Louis Vuitton, Look 1
I can always count on quirky styling from Louis Vuitton. Most of the time, the brand is difficult to replicate, as everything feels so completely unique that you sort of have to buy that specific item to get that same feel, but for fall/winter 2022, I was pleasantly surprised by the practicality of the opening looks. The combination of baggy trousers, a loose leather jacket, and a tie is a different take on menswear-inspired dressing that I haven't seen yet.
Shop the look:
Prada, Look 23
Since its debut in March, Prada's white logo tank has found its way into almost every conversation among the fashion set. It's luxury in the most accessible sense, which is why the piece has found a gaggle of fans across all corners of the industry. While you can't get your hands on one just yet, the look is still simple enough to emulate with a few substitutions.

Victor Glemaud, Look 21
There's something so cinematic about this look, and I can't get over it. Reminiscent of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct, it's a touch seductive but powerful all the same. Beyond the drama, I'm most intrigued by the addition of the hood. It's not the typical "hoodie" dress that belongs in the athleisure department—there's a formality and subtle glamour that makes me excited to see more hooded styles reach the masses. Balmain has made a sleek hooded bodysuit that I can't wait to try until then. And of course, you have to include Alaïa's iconic hooded dress in the mix.
Shop the look:
ACNE Studios, Look 17
The quickest way for me to go broke is to watch an ACNE Studios show. When it's over, I have 50 different shopping tabs open and a sudden urge to buy anything remotely similar. It's one of the shows I continually look to every season for new inspiration, and this was no different. The usage of chunky knits was one of my favorite bits, including this outfit with detached sweater sleeves. I've been behind this trend since last year, so it's thrilling to see it remain a big idea in 2022. Until I can buy it later this year, I'll be sporting detached sleeves with all of my denim and dresses.
