2 Key Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Fall Wardrobe
For fashion girls, fall is the ideal time for a wardrobe refresh. While we're ready to start shopping for new goods, we also want to make sure we're picking up pieces that will extend the life of our wardrobes. So as part of our fall Who What Wear 30-Day Style Challenge, we asked blogger Liz Adams of Sequins & Stripes to take on styling a bomber jacket with her go-to athleisure look and to pair over-the-knee boots with an A-line skirt. After finding some elevated pieces at Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Liz Abrams was able to put together two looks that are incredibly versatile, extending the life of her wardrobe for the coming season, and discovered a few things about her personal style that she wasn't aware of before.

If you’re used to sticking to the same casual outfit formula (i.e. leggings, a tee, and sneakers), throw on a bomber for that extra touch of detail. It’s an It girl–friendly look that ups your ensemble from casual to polished. Plus, you could wear this all weekend long.
“It’s easy to throw on workout clothes and call it a day, but I know it takes an extra layer to really make it an outfit. For that reason, experimenting with the bomber jacket was a fun step outside of my comfort zone.” — Liz Adams
“After shopping at Saks Off 5th and discovering this lace BCBG bomber jacket, I was excited to elevate my typical athleisure outfit of black athletic pants, a tank, and sneakers. So effortless! It’s definitely a look that I’m going to be repeating from here on out.” — Liz Adams
When Adams walked into Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH looking for a bomber, she spotted the ideal piece she couldn't find anywhere else. The lace detail on this bomber elevates any look. Wear this during weekend errands for the ideal athleisure look.
If you want to add some edge to your style, try over-the-knee boots with an A-line skirt. You can swap out your top and third piece to match any event you’re going to, but if you always have this combo in your back pocket, you’ll be able to get away with repeating outfits a few times this fall.
“I loved pairing over-the-knee boots with an a-line skirt because it added a fun element to what can be a conservative look.” — Liz Adams
“Whether your boots have a heel or are flat, the OTK style shoes a little skin and can either dress up or dress down the look. For a more casual style, throw on a knit sweater to add some texture.” — Liz Adams
For classic over-the-knee boots, Adams gravitated to these while she was shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th. This pair is seriously chic and looks more expensive that what they really are. Consider it a steal.
