And Now, All the Coolest Items on Our Fashion Editors' Fall Wish Lists
I'm not going to lie: I have missed the embrace of a soft knit sweater, watching Gilmore Girls reruns under a cozy throw, and biting into a crisp, sweet apple pie. Now that a new season is finally upon us, there's no doubt I'm getting excited about all things autumnal—especially in the sartorial department. Bring on soft suede boots and luxurious-feeling leather jackets.
With plenty of exciting new-season pieces at all our favorite retailers right now, I'm already starting to add plenty of fall-ready items to my cart. While I'm always inspired by the trends we saw on the F/W 22 runways, along with what It girls are wearing on Instagram, one of my favorite sources of new-season fashion inspiration is what my fellow editors are buying and wearing themselves. So for this story, I turned to the fashion editors of Who What Wear and asked them to share the coolest items on their fall wish lists.
From silky slip dresses to chic waistcoats, keep scrolling for every trendy, classic, and cool piece that we're eyeing right now. Happy fall shopping!
"This pretty burnt orange skirt would look really chic with a cashmere sweater tucked into it."
"I haven't worn leopard-print shoes in years, but these are making me want to. They're subtle and would go with much of my fall wardrobe (which tends to be a lot of neutrals)."
"I've been thinking about these boots since last year, which means they're officially going in my closet now."
"Corsets are getting a makeover with cool new details for fall and I can't stop thinking about this topstich version from SIR."
"I adore an oversize blazer, but cropped blazers are also trending. This silhouette looks so expensive."
I'm really into the long, silky slip dress trend this season—this one is a favorite among our editors right now. I love the color and it's easy to layer once the temps start to cool.
I own these high-waisted wide-leg jeans in the light wash and black—they are incredibly comfortable and fit beautifully. I can't wait to get them in the darker wash for fall.
Boots season is finally here. These are the perfect heel height to wear to the office, on the weekend, or for an evening out.
A chic waistcoat will elevate any outfit. This one looks way more expensive than its price tag.
I can't resist a statement top. Bow details were big on the F/W 22 runways and I can't wait to wear this chic Zara find with a pair of high-waisted wide-leg trousers for an evening out.
I'm all about longer hemlines this fall, and this sleek column skirt is the first one I'll be buying. So versatile.
"These pants are truly perfect—and on sale. They're super lightweight and billowy, while still having a tailored, trouser-like fit at the waist, allowing them to perfectly combine comfort and luxury."
"Elsa Hosk just launched her own label at Revolve and FWRD and my eye immediately went to this easy, cool skirt-and-jacket set. Don't hesitate, though, because the skirt is selling out fast."
"If you were to look at my browser history right now, you'd find several tabs of sweaters and cardigans. When the temperatures start to drop, I'm immediately drawn to prints and bold hues that can take me into the fall season while still giving me the playfulness of summer. This cardigan is all I've been thinking about as of late."
"I'm a sucker for bold outerwear and dopamine dressing. Most people tend to pull out all the neutrals during the fall and winter, but I always reach for more colorful pieces like this pink leather trench. It feels fun yet understated because of that classic trench-coat structure."
"I just bought this pretty dress for my trip to France in late September. The long length makes it the perfect summer-to-fall transitional piece, while the white trim ensures it's far from a boring black dress."
"This jacket absolutely looks designer. Houndstooth will never go out of style and the sleek silhouette can be styled with almost anything on the bottom, from jeans to on-trend baggy trousers."
"I'm always on the lookout for unique tops to wear with jeans, and this one is top of my list."
"Frankie Shop's basics are designed with timeless silhouettes and lasting quality, so you're sure to wear them often. This Lui shirt is cut from organic cotton poplin for a relaxed fit and has a rounded hem that's longer at the back. Wear yours with the matching shorts, jeans or tailoring, depending on the occasion."
"H&Ms fall selection is top notch right now—there are many items on my wish list, including these pants. I have a cream pair from H&M that I wear repeatedly, so I know this pair will also get a lot of love."
"This Staud bag has been on my fall wish list for the past few months, and now that my favorite season is starting I finally hit purchase. It's sleek, will go with any outfit, and fits all my essentials. Staud knows how to make a good handbag!"
"I can't believe I don't own a classic pair of penny loafers. That ends now."
"The mini skirt trend is only going stronger as we move into fall and I love this cool leather version that taps the rising biker aesthetic."
Up next, I just found the 14 biggest fall trends for under $100.
