I Like a 3-in-1 Outfit—These Simple Fall Looks Are Worth Trying
One of my favorite influencers, Aïda Sané of @basicstouch, recently posted an inspiring look with a caption about the idea of a three-in-one outfit. I’ve been into this type of ensemble because it's actually quite practical for this time of year with transitional weather. Essentially, it features three key pieces that could give you three different outfit options with one look.
For example, take an ensemble like the above with a trench, sweater, and button-down shirt. You could wear all three together when it’s chillier outside. If it gets warmer throughout the day, you could remove the trench. After that, you could remove both outer layers for a lighter ensemble. And voilà—a three-in-one outfit.
Keep scrolling for more on this outfit formula. You’ll find various looks that feature three hero items layered together. There are more styling and shopping recommendations throughout.
The Key Pieces: Blazer + Striped Sweater +Tee
An oversize blazer complements a striped sweater quite well. You're left with a white tee and the trousers if you peel off the layers—chic.

A tailored vest is quite forward on top of a knit dress with the sleeves scrunched up to reveal a white blouse.

The Key Pieces: Longline Coat + Sweater + Turtleneck
Draping a sweater over your shoulders brings dimension to a silhouette. While you could wear this look as is, you could also layer the sweater on top of the turtleneck or, of course, just go for the turtleneck with jeans.

The Key Pieces: Leather Blazer + Knit Vest/Tank + Shirt
Knit tanks or vests are adorable on their own or as a layering item over a white button-down shirt. A leather blazer adds a sleek feel to the vibe.
